Doesn’t UPS and FedEx already cover this?

It is a common misconception that transportation carriers automatically cover lost and stolen items.  This is not the case.  Transportation carrier liability is generally limited to $100 and does not extend to all types of goods.  Furthermore, a transportation carrier’s liability ends once the package is delivered on your doorstep.  Even filing a claim that may fit within a transportation carrier’s limited liability is incredibly difficult frustrating.

Does Route cover porch pirating/stolen items?

Yes! When orders are insured with Route, any items stolen off of your customers porches are covered by Route, NOT the merchant, even after the item is marked as delivered. 11 million Americans had packages stolen last year alone and with the increase in online shopping this number just keeps growing.

How does Route Plus protect my shipments?

In order for Route App, Inc. (“Route”) to extend Route Plus protection to customers, Safe Order Solutions (Route’s licensed producer entity) procures a cargo insurance policy from Roanoke Trade through Lloyds of London that designates Route as the named insured (the “Route Policy”).  The Route Policy extends coverage to shipments where the transportation is tracked through Route.

How much does Route cost?

Route is free for merchants. The cost to shoppers is only around 1.5% of the cart value to fully protect your customers from lost, damaged, and stolen items.

Can I test Route to make sure it works for my store?

Yes! If you are on Shopify you can install and uninstall with the click of a button. It’s very simple to test out to verify that it will increase conversion.

What carriers can be covered with Route?

Any licensed carrier that you use to make shipments will be accepted.
