A carbon credit represents the removal or avoidance of one metric ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. When you place an order with a merchant offering carbon neutral shipping through Route, we calculate and offset the emissions generated by each shipment from our certified forestry projects.

Located in Oregon, this project takes agricultural waste that would otherwise produce emissions and turns it into a carbon-rich biochar that sequesters carbon for hundreds of years. Estimated annual emissions removals: 2.64 metric tons CO2e per dry metric ton of biochar.
Indus Delta Mangrove Restoration
Situated in Pakistan's Indus River Delta, this replanting project will lead to a sequestration of an estimated 142 million tons of CO2e over the next 60 years, benefiting the delta's ecology and its communities by creating over 21,000 jobs and ensuring access to education.
